UC San Francisco Research Analyst interview experience

San Francisco, CAPosted Jan 2019 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My process was a phone interview followed by an hour-long in-person panel.

The overall difficulty felt high right from the start because the reviewers asked questions that dug into both my professional background and more personal aspects of how I work. The panel portion in particular had a tough edge to it; even though the format was familiar, the questions didn’t feel casual.

I left feeling like the panel was intentionally probing for depth rather than just asking for rehearsed stories. There was no offer at the end of it, and what stuck with me most was how personal the questioning became—less about checking boxes and more about testing how I’d handle pressure
