After a short phone conversation with the study coordinator, I moved into a longer discussion with the principal investigator.

The coordinator portion focused on my background and what I was interested in, then the PI interview shifted into going through the details of my past work—talking through my experience in depth and the projects I’d been involved with.

It was an interview journey that felt pretty straightforward in structure: talk first to align on interest and fit, then dig into specifics with the PI. I left feeling like I’d been able to explain my experience clearly, but I didn’t end up with an offer, and the process ended without the kind of closure that would’ve helped me understand the decision fully.
