I got asked a coding problem about “Top K Elements.” It started out fine, but the moment I explained the performance characteristics, things went off track.

I told the interviewer the solution could run in O(N*logK), and they wouldn’t accept that.

They insisted it was NlogN and would not move past the disagreement, even when I tried to justify the correct reasoning. That stubbornness basically shut down the rest of the conversation, and I couldn’t make progress from there.

I wasn’t selected, and I also didn’t receive any feedback after the interview. The whole experience felt more like a conflict over correctness than a chance to work through and improve.
