The University of Massachusetts Amherst Research Analyst interview experience

I had to walk through why I chose to pursue work with that professor and what I thought I could contribute.

The professor evaluated how I would match the job based on what I’d done academically and how my experiences connected to the role. The difficulty seemed average overall—enough to require thoughtful explanations about my past work, but not so much that it felt like a high-stakes puzzle. I left with the sense that the interview was meant to judge fit and potential alignment more than to test me on random topics.
