San Francisco, CAPosted Mar 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Financial Analyst role with a professional, conversational flow that mixed basic finance knowledge with municipal/public finance and behaviorals.

Initial banker phone screen — Talked through my background and interest in public finance, plus basic finance concepts.
Team interviews — Additional calls with team members focused on behavioral questions, discussion of coursework and internship experience, and testing my understanding of financial markets and municipal/public finance.
Throughout — The experience stayed professional and conversational rather than overly rigid. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, but I felt like my public finance motivation and fundamentals were the main signals they tested.
