Spotify Data Scientist interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview loop for the Data Scientist role at Spotify included a pretty broad mix of formats.

I moved through rounds that involved SQL, Python, an analytical round, and then there was a hiring manager conversation. The process also included a presentation, which made the experience feel less like a pure test of coding and more like a check of how I could communicate ideas clearly.

Overall, it felt like a well-rounded sequence designed to cover both technical depth and how I’d represent my thinking. I didn’t receive an offer based on how it ended for me, but the structure gave me a strong sense of what the role emphasizes across different parts of the process.
