One interview that really stood out to me was with a manager who had a very long tenure at the company—at least sixteen years.

Honestly, that dynamic made it challenging from the start, because the questions weren’t just surface-level.

He wanted me to explain the company’s different products and what the organization specialized in. On top of that, he asked about my earlier experience and then about my professional pivot—how I’d made a sudden reconversion and what had led me to that shift. It felt like he was trying to map my story directly onto the company’s needs, and I remember walking out feeling like I’d been pushed to be very precise about both my background and how the pieces fit.
