San Mateo, CAPosted Jun 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Sony Software Engineer with average difficulty and a larger set of steps focused on technical coding plus architectural thinking.

Round 1: technical coding (React-focused) — A fully technical round based on React.
Round 2: live coding — I solved a problem live.
Round 3: architecture — I was asked to break down an architectural design and explain components in detail.
Additional rounds — The process involved multiple technical checkpoints toward coding and architecture.
Outcome: Not selected. The mix of hands-on coding and explicit breakdown of architecture made it hard to pass cleanly.
