I had a pretty turbulent experience compared to how I expected recruitment to feel.

The early stages were quick and involved the usual phone-first approach with HR, followed by interviews with managers—often via video—so the logistics were handled and it didn’t drag on forever.

Still, the vibe during the interviews wasn’t good. In one set of conversations, the recruiters and interviewers came across as low-level and overly negative about the fit, with the feeling that they weren’t there for a two-way evaluation. In another, I got to the point where interviews had already passed and then the salary being offered didn’t match the range discussed earlier with HR and managers.
