Silicon Valley Bank Software Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went into the process expecting it to be a fit because multiple recruiters kept reaching out and saying there were openings for my exact skill set.

But once the interview happened, the whole thing felt off.

The conversation was awkward, and I didn’t get the sense that the interviewer was genuinely interested in my background. Instead, they zeroed in on very specialized requirements that didn’t seem to connect with what recruiters had told me they needed.

I didn’t get an offer, and the end result was hard to shake: it felt like the match was there in the recruiter pitch, but it didn’t translate during the interview itself.
