The only step I took was with a recruiter, and it went well—professional, friendly, and straightforward.

We talked through my fit and the application didn’t feel like it was dragging.

A couple weeks later I heard back that the dev team decided not to proceed with my application. They didn’t share specific reasons, which was the part that stung more than the rejection itself.

I didn’t get an offer. My reflection was that even though the recruiter interaction was positive, the lack of feedback left it feeling unresolved rather than fully closed out.
