My interview went through three rounds in a tight sequence: I talked with the recruiter, then did a C++ Codility-style coding challenge, and then met with team leads and the head of the office.

The coding part had a small set of questions—two that were easier and one that was harder—so I knew from the start that the last one would be the real differentiator.

The conversations with the leadership figures were the part that hurt the most. I was asked about projects I’d already described, and then I watched the same questions get repeated by different team leads as if the earlier answers hadn’t been heard.
