Reynolds and Reynolds Software Engineer interview experience

My process felt convoluted from the start, with multiple job screens that didn’t read like an interview so much as a sequence of repeated, timed questions.

One part in particular involved “choices” tied to sobriety topics, which was jarring and made the whole evaluation feel disconnected from engineering.

Instead of any real back-and-forth about my work, I ran into long cognitive testing and general aptitude items that felt unrelated to software development. Even when I didn’t think I did horribly, there was no human interaction during the testing-heavy parts, and it all blurred together into a form of screening.

It ended without an offer, and the rejection felt like it was predetermined by the standardized steps rather than anything discussed
