I met with the team and expected a shorter conversation, since it was described as a thirty-minute meeting.

Instead, it ran over an hour. The extra time made the interaction feel more substantive than a quick screen.

We talked about the kind of work, my task and skill set, and I shared a five-year plan. They also explained process and procedures and introduced people, and there were examples and a walkthrough of the software toolset they use. Overall it felt like a genuine deep dive into how the group works, and I appreciated how much they shared. Even so, I didn’t get an offer, and walking away I realized how much effort it took to align on both fit and execution expectations.
