This interview was also fairly simple in structure: I began with a brief self-introduction, then the interviewer gave me a coding question.

After I worked on it, I got to ask questions back at the end.

What made it feel less comfortable was the interviewer’s style. They were described as “cool,” but it also meant they didn’t really engage—there was no back-and-forth during my attempts and no hints when I was stuck or needed clarification. I felt like I was just talking into the void, with very little interactive guidance.

Even though the process didn’t sound overly complicated on paper, the lack of responsiveness made it a poor experience for me, and I didn’t receive an offer afterward.
