I went through a difficult, long-running process for the Business Analyst role that began with BD and required preparing both long and short stock ideas.

BD discussion — I first talked with a BD person.
Model test — After passing that stage, I completed a modeling test.
PM/analyst interviews (multiple 1-on-1s) — I then met various PMs and analysts in one-on-one conversations.
Preparation expectation — I needed to prepare stock ideas for both long and short positions. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer; the takeaway was that preparation and stamina mattered because the process stretched out significantly.
