Blacksburg, VAPosted Feb 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for the Software Engineer role and found it difficult and adversarial, with behavioral prompts followed by technical questions that felt unfairly specific.

Behavioral + leadership — I was asked leadership-oriented behavioral questions.
Technical grilling — The technical portion felt ridiculous because they expected knowledge “off the top of your head” on topics hardly covered in school.
Interviewer demeanor — I felt like the interviewers were trying to catch me rather than evaluate fairly. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; the takeaway was that the technical bar felt abrupt and the tone didn’t feel supportive.
