I had an average-difficulty Software Engineer interview that felt extremely unpleasant and unfair, and it left me with very little opportunity to showcase myself.

Interview with dismissive/hard-control questioning — The interviewer directly reviewed my payslip, which I felt should have been handled by HR. My questions/answers were constrained to mostly close-ended prompts rather than open-ended conversation, and the interaction felt like the decision had already been made. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the takeaway was that the process felt unprofessional and that I wasn’t given a fair chance to fully respond.
