Paycom Account Executive interview experience

Even before the conversation really got underway, there was a noticeable negative energy in the office, and the interviewer came off as condescending. The overall message I picked up was that they wanted salespeople they could closely control—telling people when and where to be—rather than trusting reps to work independently.

I didn’t feel like the atmosphere matched how I like to operate in sales, and that impression stuck throughout the process. I didn’t end up accepting an offer, and the biggest takeaway for me was how quickly the culture signal showed up once I arrived.
