PACCAR Software Engineer interview experience

United StatesPosted Oct 2014 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I got an email from HR to schedule an on-site interview, and there were two engineering managers involved.

The process felt straightforward and traditional, but it also seemed very checklist-driven: they had a sheet of questionnaire items and mostly read from it.

What I missed was personal connection during the interview itself. The questions were handled in a structured way, and the interaction didn’t feel very warm or conversational.

Even though the difficulty was labeled difficult, I experienced it more as stiff than technical. I didn’t receive an offer, and looking back, the lack of connection made the process feel colder than I expected.
