Most of my questions focused on explaining past experiences—things like leadership and times when I applied learned technical skills.

They wanted responses in a STAR format, with situation, task, action, and results. I interviewed with my future boss along with one other coworker.

The tone of the whole process felt not too intense. There weren’t technical questions that tried to test me on specific material, and the focus stayed squarely on how I’d handled previous work.

The difficulty felt easy, and even though it didn’t feel difficult, I still didn’t receive an offer. I left thinking the bar was more about storytelling and credibility than technical problem-solving.
