Opendoor Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Hard

Negative

CanadaPosted Apr 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My experience started with scheduling an interview time with the recruiter, but things went wrong immediately.

The recruiter canceled just five minutes before the interview, and then I got an email saying they’d moved forward with other candidates.

To make it more frustrating, I had blocked time on my calendar specifically for that call, and the lack of pre-screening until the last possible moment felt wildly unprofessional. The email timing and the way it ended made it feel like the interview slot wasn’t genuinely reserved for me.

I didn’t get an offer, and overall it was a bad impression—less about the decision and more about the process failure.
