Opendoor Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Hard

Positive

FrancePosted Oct 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The interview itself felt pretty standard for a senior engineering role, but I appreciated that the final round was done as a single block on one day instead of spreading it out.

Across the rounds, I saw a mix that covered React programming, backend questions, and system architecture.

At the same time, I had chances to speak with the hiring manager and other prospective team members about the culture and the business outside of the pure technical evaluation. That made the day feel less like only an exam and more like a real conversation about how the team operated.

I didn’t get an offer, but the way the day was structured and the opportunity to talk beyond coding was a genuine positive.
