I went into the interview feeling like I’d get a chance to show my skills and my passion for research, and that’s exactly how it played out.

The process felt enlightening and invigorating because it wasn’t just about verifying that I had the right background—it also gave me insight into the project’s objectives and the team’s dynamics.

I didn’t see a bunch of complex rounds described, so the overall feel was more about mutual fit than an endurance test. I ended up with an offer, and the biggest takeaway was that the role genuinely excited me; the interview made me anticipate contributing to meaningful research work with the group.
