It was a simple, easy start: a 15-minute phone call with a lab manager.

They asked about my relevant experience and my research interests, and I also talked through where I wanted to go next. What stood out was that I had a chance to ask questions about the specific project in the lab, not just answer theirs.

The whole thing felt low-pressure and efficient. I ended up not getting an offer, but the call itself was straightforward and informative, and it matched the “quick fit check” vibe I was hoping for.
