I went through a recruiter phone screen, then a technical interview that felt LeetCode-style, and then a behavioral round with a director.

What surprised me was that the behavioral conversation became technical pretty quickly—it turned into a deep drill-down on the details behind my resume, including coursework I’d taken.

The director pushed into the specifics rather than keeping it light, and it ended up feeling like a continuation of the technical evaluation more than a separate temperament check. Overall, it didn’t lead to an offer, and the most lasting impression was how much the “behavioral” stage overlapped with technical questioning.
