My technical interview felt strange and somewhat arbitrary.

I got the sense that the interview wasn’t trying hard to resemble real development work—at least not in the way the task was delivered and evaluated.

I understood that they wanted to distinguish real software experience from quick boot camp-style coding, but the way it was set up made that distinction feel tricky and unclear. Overall it didn’t progress to an offer, and the main thing I walked away with was the feeling that the evaluation didn’t map well to actual engineering day-to-day.
