Pasadena, CAPosted Nov 2018 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I followed a longer, multi-step hiring flow typical of a government facility, with HR and hiring-manager conversations followed by in-person team interviews after background checks.

HR phone + resume review — after applying and following up, I spoke briefly with HR; then I had a follow-up with the hiring manager within about a week.
Onsite team interviews (after clearance) — once background checks cleared, I had a couple face-to-face interviews with the team.
Follow-up loop — I waited for updates and followed up again before hearing back from HR. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; the takeaway was that timing and bureaucracy (background checks, follow-ups) can dominate the experience.
