MSD Software Engineer interview experience

After an initial screening phase, I moved into additional rounds where the focus stayed on engineering fundamentals rather than whiteboarding puzzles.

I ended up going through four rounds total: two with a manager in Singapore and then rounds with engineers—one in Singapore and one in Prague. The manager conversations were part of the evaluation, while the engineer rounds were technical but explicitly not based on algorithm whiteboarding questions. The whole arc felt grounded in practical engineering and the way I’d reason through problems.

Even though it was more involved than a single
