I started with a phone screen with the hiring manager, and I was told the process would include multiple coding rounds.

But that didn’t end up happening the way it was described, and I didn’t get a chance to complete any of the coding challenges.

What hurt most was the mismatch between what I was led to expect and what actually took place—communication felt late, and I left the process feeling like the scope of what they were looking for had shifted without being handled transparently.

I didn’t receive an offer. The reflection I took from it was how quickly assumptions about seniority can derail an interview flow when it isn’t communicated early.
