Motional Software Engineer interview experience

The problem itself was fairly simple: I had to build a custom class to store a matrix, with straightforward setter and getter methods.

Even though the task wasn’t complex, it still required me to think about implementation details as I went. The interviewer’s goal seemed to be understanding how I approach coding in real time rather than only whether I can produce a working answer.

I didn’t receive an offer, but the interaction sounded constructive and focused. The technical evaluation felt like a practical check of C++ fundamentals.
