I interviewed for Software Engineer at McAfee in 2018 and got only one round—then I wasn’t shortlisted further.

Single technical interview — I was asked to implement a recursive reverse for a linked list, explain HashMap internals (including what exists in the structure), and compare concurrent vs synchronized HashMap. I also covered microservices architecture components and binary search trees.
Performance/throughput — I was asked about the throughput of an application I had developed. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that this round was very systems/design-heavy, and my performance there determined everything.
