McAfee Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

IndiaPosted Mar 2014 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for the Software Engineer role through a longer series of rounds that moved from coding to leadership and finished with HR.

Team lead round — I was evaluated for fit with a team-lead style scope.
Hands-on coding test — I completed a practical coding exercise.
Manager round — I discussed technical depth and my approach.
Group manager round — Additional leadership-level evaluation.
HR round (final) — HR wrapped up the process. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, and the takeaway was that the sequence was designed to filter progressively from hands-on execution to management alignment.
