McAfee Software Engineer interview experience

Negative

I experienced a highly technical loop, but parts of the evaluation felt unreliable and the overall experience was negative.

Online test (coding platform) — a first technical round on a coding platform.
Technical interviews (JS/AWS or C++ focus) — in one experience the panel’s JavaScript knowledge was weak; in another, the interviewer pushed C++11 topics even after I explained I didn’t have working experience in that version. Outcome: I didn’t report an offer; takeaway is that when interviewer familiarity or assumptions are off, performance becomes hard to represent fairly.
