I thought I’d cleared the process and accepted an offer proposal, but the role was closed internally afterward and I never received an official offer letter.

Multiple rounds with a quick recruiter call — I was contacted directly, progressed through the interview steps, and was told I was selected.
Reference and paperwork — after accepting the same day, they collected references and pay slip/details.
Stalled follow-up — no call after that; when I asked for an update, HR said the business closed the position internally. Outcome: No offer letter; takeaway is that final decisions can change even after selection and documentation.
