I interviewed for Software Engineer with McAfee’s Skyhigh Networks team, and despite strong early technical impressions, the final HR follow-through never happened.

Early technical rounds (shared-screen) — I completed three technical discussions online where I provided domain and coding solutions and the team seemed satisfied.
Higher manager discussion — In the 4th round, the higher manager challenged my decision to shift my technical domain.
HR step (no follow-up) — I was told HR would call afterward, but a month passed with no HR response.
Follow-up attempt — I reached out to HR to request feedback. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that strong technical performance wasn’t enough when the process stalled at the HR stage.
