Santa Clara, CAPosted Mar 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineering role with an onsite that was mostly simple written problem-solving, but the offer ultimately fell below expectations.

Phone call (hiring manager) — a half-hour conversation.
Onsite (5 rounds) — multiple rounds that were fairly easy, with questions that needed to be written out on paper; there was no real technical discussion.
Basic programming tasks — simple programs rather than deep architecture or complex algorithms.
Offer disappointment — I ended up with an offer that was low compared with what I expected. Outcome: I didn’t accept; the takeaway is that even easy interviews can still disappoint if comp/level isn’t aligned.
