My process started with an online HackerRank test: a small set of coding questions paired with multiple-choice items.

After that, I was offered a choice between taking on a longer project plus multiple Skype steps or skipping the project and going straight into a set of Skype interviews. I skipped the project and did a shorter set of interviews where the technical questions were pretty light and I finished them quickly.

Even then, the interaction didn’t feel like it went anywhere. The interviewer seemed distant and didn’t really carry the conversation, and when the rejection came a few days later it felt like the decision turned more on how the call went than on the problem-solving itself.
