I had a HackerRank round where I felt like I did okay, but I never received any clear update afterward—no positive confirmation and no rejection.

It just sat there with no signal.

What made it hard emotionally was the timeline. By the time I reflected on it, it had been about eight months, and that delay felt unreasonable for hearing anything about the result of an interview round.

I didn’t get an offer. Looking back, the biggest issue wasn’t the technical challenge—it was the silence afterward and how long it took to resolve it, even if the outcome never came.
