Recruiter outreach and the early communication felt friendly, and the process itself was described as fine, but what made it difficult for me personally was how the interviews skewed against people without product experience.

Even though the company felt great and the recruiting process wasn’t hostile, the interviews didn’t quite feel welcoming for my background.

I also walked away feeling like the questions and expectations weren’t just assessing my product thinking—they were filtering heavily based on whether I could already demonstrate familiarity. I didn’t receive an offer, and my reflection was that the fit gap mattered more than I expected, especially for someone coming from a different lane.
