I had a lighter, recruiter-led start for the Hays Consultant role, with a transparent process that ended without an offer.

HR/recruitment interview — I spoke with the recruiter and the conversation felt very benevolent and transparent, with an honest discussion of my fit.
Next steps — Even though they chose another profile, the recruiter offered to pass my CV to other services they were in contact with.
Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, but I left with clear communication and a potential follow-on opportunity via CV sharing.
