My path included the early stages with HR—prescreening, then a first and second round—and I also went through a writing test with the HR team.

The conversations were largely about my past experience and general fit, and they kept the process structured rather than open-ended.

At the same time, I was told there would be an interview with the PI if I was selected. Even though I didn’t end up getting that further opportunity, the overall feeling of the process was that it was organized and checkpoint-driven, with clear steps and a defined writing stage as part of the screening.
