Cambridge, MAPosted Dec 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview sequence built toward a timed writing exercise that genuinely felt stressful.

Before that final assessment, I spoke with the original screener and then with the professor I would be working with, and those conversations centered on my background and technical interests.

Then came the exercise: they gave me background information and articles for a case study target, and I had to start drafting as the clock ran. The biggest challenge was the amount of material I had to sift through quickly, and it pushed me to begin writing before I felt fully ready. The process felt overwhelming in the moment, but it was also clear they were testing how I functioned under pressure.
