Goldman Sachs Software Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a final video conference interview for an Engineering full-stack/back-end role, and it felt like the last checkpoint before deciding everything.

The setup was remote and focused on demonstrating fit for the kind of work that spans both building and operating software—especially the back-end side.

Alongside that, I’d been curious about how frontend engineering roles tend to be evaluated there, which helped me calibrate my expectations even though my actual round was for full-stack/back-end. Going into the final video conference, I felt like I was being assessed on practical engineering execution rather than abstract preferences.

My honest reflection was that the last stage didn’t feel like a formality; it felt like a real interview
