I was contacted by the hiring manager and scheduled quickly, with the interview happening within the next few days.

The format was a panel of senior engineers, and the difficulty level felt high from the start. The whole conversation kept circling back to whether I really understood the semiconductor process, which made that topic the anchor of the discussion.

Throughout the panel, the questions weren’t just surface-level. They pushed on my knowledge and how I thought about the process, so I spent a lot of time connecting my background back to the semiconductor work they cared about. It wasn’t overly hostile, but it definitely felt like they expected me to speak with confidence and technical depth.
