I had a phone interview where the hiring manager focused on the experience and items listed on my resume, and we talked about my past work.

It was a great, friendly conversation.

In another phone-based process I went through, the round was longer—there were about six consecutive interviews from different groups, with no breaks or lunch. The questions weren’t described as difficult; instead, it felt like they were measuring the breadth of my experience by discussing past accomplishments.

I didn’t end up with an offer from these paths. The overall reflection was that the calls felt conversational, but the volume and length of the interviewers’ time still made the experience feel demanding.
