I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with an unusually mechanical/engineering-leaning set of topics, and it felt like medium difficulty overall.

Technical interviews (2 rounds total) — the questions started from more basic mechanical concepts and then got into deeper cross-topic discussion tied to my past projects.
Technical + senior manager/HR round — more detailed, design-adjacent questions, including stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and GD&T-style considerations, plus follow-ups on how I’d approach related work. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the takeaway was that the role emphasized engineering fundamentals and design reasoning as much as typical software experience.
