I interviewed for a research consultant track at Gallup with an unusual, unstructured virtual chat—very easy in difficulty but frustrating due to unclear job definition.

Hiring manager interview (virtual) — a laid-back, loosely structured conversation where the interviewer talked more than I could go in depth.
Fit discussion / role clarity checks — I asked for job duties and team details, but the answers were dismissed or avoided. Outcome: I wasn’t offered the position, and my takeaway was to push for concrete role/team scope early—especially when the process feels informal.
