San Jose, CAPosted May 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a FICO Software Engineer role that turned out to be more challenging than average, with multiple developer rounds and several coding attempts, but I didn’t get selected.

Hiring manager round (about 1 hour) — I discussed fit and role expectations with the hiring manager.
Technical rounds (developers) — backend-heavy focus — I then did three technical interviews with developers, where the questions leaned heavily on Java/Spring REST APIs.
Algorithm question + multiple coding prompts — Across the process, there was an algorithm-focused question and a total of five coding questions. Outcome: No offer; the depth was tied to real backend stack knowledge plus sustained coding practice.
