I walked into my first interview and immediately felt the panic kick in.

Even though the questions the interviewer asked were easy, I blanked out in the moment and couldn’t respond the way I knew I could. The awkward part was realizing the difficulty level wasn’t the problem—the pressure of being in the room was.

Afterward, the biggest takeaway was how quickly nerves can erase familiarity. I didn’t move forward, and honestly, that miss felt more about nerves than capability.
